Overview

SvelteKit is the official application framework for svelte, providing file-based routing, SSR, and build tooling integrated with vite.

Config: Moved from svelte.config.js to vite.config.ts (Vite-native)
Imports: $lib alias replaced by #lib subpath imports
Migration: npx sv migrate sveltekit-3 --tasks all --confirm
Requirements: Node 22.17, TypeScript 6, Svelte 5.57.1, Vite 8.0.12, @sveltejs/vite-plugin-svelte 7
Other: Improved env vars, service workers, error handling; version.pollInterval defaults to 1 hour
Experimental: Remote functions require Async Svelte flag — not production-ready (2026-10-02-sveltekit-3-infoq)
