Overview
Outsider Enterprise is a China-based cybercrime network accused by google of operating a phishing-as-a-service platform that allegedly misused gemini to generate malicious website code. The group coordinated via Telegram and targeted Android users with mass SMS campaigns in May 2026.
Alleged Operations
- Phishing-as-a-service: Subscription fees as low as $88/week; 290+ prebuilt templates mimicking carriers, banks, DMVs, and government agencies
- Scale (per Google complaint): 2.5M scam texts in two weeks (May 2026); 9,000 fake websites; 1M+ fraudulent URLs; 55,000 Android user spam reports in same period
- AI misuse: Members allegedly prompted Gemini to write HTML/code for phishing sites, then imported into Outsider software
- Infrastructure abuse: Allegedly integrated Google Drive to back up stolen credentials
