Federal authorities arrested Greg Lui, owner of City of Industry, Calif.-based EarthMade Computer, for allegedly smuggling export-controlled servers with U.S.-made GPUs to China via Malaysia and Singapore.
In one transaction Lui ordered 27 restricted servers for about $7.6 million and arranged shipment from Los Angeles to Kuala Lumpur. EarthMade offers Supermicro-based servers and resells Nvidia products.
