“Artificial general engineer” (AGE) is prometheus’ marketing term for AI software capable of automating the full engineering lifecycle — design, testing, manufacturing, and optimization of complex physical systems. It extends the LLM paradigm from text generation to physical-world engineering constraints (physics, materials, production processes).

AGE is company positioning language, not an established scientific category. Frame as Prometheus's product thesis, not a validated capability.

Scope (Per Prometheus)

  • Jet engines, medical devices, skyscrapers, spacecraft, drug compounds
  • Pre-production machinery and prototyping optimization
  • Accelerating the “invention loop” from idea to manufactured product

Bezos Framing

“An age-old dream… that you might build a set of tools that could actually do engineering. It’s never really been possible. But now it is.” — CNBC interview, June 11, 2026.
