Apple must open its iOS operating system to rival app stores and payment systems in Australia without a fixed expiry date, a judge ruled Thursday in Epic Games’ long-running antitrust case. Federal Court Judge Jonathan Beach largely accepted Epic’s proposed injunctions, but limited their reach to the Australian app store and users with Australian Apple accounts. Developers and payment providers can be based anywhere in the world, but developers must be current members of Apple’s developer program.

Epic lost its bid for global remedies; relief is scoped to Australia.
