HashiCorp announced October 9, 2026 that Boundary Community Edition is deprecated. The GitHub repository was archived effective immediately (archive date October 8, 2026). Future development focuses on HCP Boundary and Boundary Enterprise for enterprise-grade human and agentic privileged access.
Community Edition code remains read-only; forks are permitted subject to license terms. HashiCorp warns teams to review open bugs and security vulnerabilities before continued CE use. No new CE releases, maintenance, bug fixes, or security patches are planned. Commercial editions retain support, session recording, governance, and compliance features.
