ShinyHunters said it targeted the FBI in response to a May 2026 agency announcement detailing ShinyHunters’ methods. Reuters partially verified sample records against credit bureau data in at least nine cases but could not establish the data came from FBI systems.
Both the FBI jobs site and Special Agent Applicant Portal were unavailable on Tuesday.
