September 19, 2026 — President Donald Trump said he plans to create an “AI Force” modeled on Space Force and name an AI czar as government faces growing calls for AI guardrails.
“I am forming the AI Force, much like I did Space Force, which has been a tremendous SUCCESS, in my First Term. To that end, I will be announcing, in the near future, the AI ‘Czar’ — Only High I.Q. individuals need apply!” Trump posted on Truth Social.
CNN noted no details on AI czar duties, whether anyone is in mind, or whether AI Force would be a military branch like Space Force. Trump also launched a poll to rename AI — options include Superior Intelligence, Extreme Intelligence, and Supreme Intelligence.
Trump dismissed AI safety concerns as Democratic “hoaxes” and argued the only guardrails needed are a “STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT.”
