Anthropic’s September 10, 2026 threat-intelligence report describes GTG-87001, a Yemen-based weapons cell using Claude Code for GNC software across three programs: guided rocket (phone-class flight computer + open-source autopilot), multi-stage ballistic missile (>2,000 km range goal with 6DoF simulations and RL-based flight-control optimization), and R2000 missile set including hypersonic glide vehicle variant.
Actors ran several Claude instances simultaneously with delegated roles. Guided rocket test in Yemen appears to have failed; no operational missile fielded. Offline toolkit compiled before ban. Case is one of six conventional-weapons investigations in the report spanning Yemen, China, and Russia.
