OpenAI’s annualized revenue has doubled to top $40 billion ahead of its IPO

OpenAI’s annualized recurring revenue surpassed $40 billion in July, with enterprise overtaking consumer. Friar and board chair Bret Taylor attributed momentum to GPT-5.6, ChatGPT Work, and Codex.

OpenAI named Dali Rajic as chief revenue officer, replacing Denise Dresser. Brad Lightcap also departed as the company scales enterprise ahead of going public.
