Anthropic starts marking all of Claude’s output worldwide as EU transparency rules take effect

Anthropic signed the EU AI Act Article 50(2) Code of Practice on Transparency, effective August 2, 2026. Text uses imperceptible SynthID-Text-based watermarks; images use C2PA.

Models launched in the EU on or after August 2 carry marking at launch; pre-August models are being updated over coming months. Other signatories include Google, Meta, Microsoft, Mistral, and OpenAI.
