Twitch enrolled all streamers in a program letting Amazon use channel content to train generative AI models, with creators automatically opted in unless they disable the setting. CPO Mike Minton on a livestream: “If this was opt-in, nobody would opt in.”
Eligible content includes streams, clips, images, and chat logs. Amazon will not resell data, Minton said. Minton could not confirm whether past content was already used for training. Head of Community Mary Kish said the opt-out option itself was a concession to creator concerns. Opt-out is in Streamer Dashboard → Security and Privacy → “training for Generative AI.”
