Anthropic’s Claude Opus 5 AI model rivals Fable 5 and is cheaper

Anthropic announced Claude Opus 5, saying it is its best-performing and most cost-effective offering across a number of industry benchmarks. Opus 5 is half the price of Fable 5 at 25 per million input/output tokens. The company said Opus 5 outperforms Fable 5 on coding and knowledge work evaluations but remains behind Mythos 5 on offensive cybersecurity and biology research. Enterprise customers are increasingly cost-conscious and demand clearer ROI.
