Tesla’s robotaxi service rolled out in Miami in July 2026, covering only a small portion of western and central Miami, excluding downtown and Miami Beach. Miami already hosts Waymo (operating since January 2026) and Zoox (April 2026).
This marks the first time Tesla’s fully autonomous EVs are available outside Texas, though limited rides run in San Francisco. Bloomberg reported only 59 robotaxis in service across the entire US versus Waymo’s 577 automated taxis in Texas alone. Reuters reported in March 2026 that Tesla logged zero required autonomous vehicle test-driving hours in California in 2025. Tesla data reported to NHTSA shows 17 crashes since the Austin launch.
