Tesla published a geofence covering only a small slice of the Miami metro — mostly West Miami and a strip toward Doral and Sweetwater. It leaves out downtown Miami, Miami Beach, the airport, and most of Coral Gables.
On Tesla’s Q1 2026 earnings call, Musk said safety validation is the limiting factor for Robotaxi expansion and Tesla is holding back until improvements arrive in rewritten FSD v15. Tesla reported crashes to NHTSA in Austin; independent analysis pointed to a crash rate roughly four times worse than the average human driver. A full year after Austin launch, Tesla runs a handful of cars and the unsupervised fleet is shrinking rather than growing.
