TwelveLabs Raises $100 Million in Series B Funding to Build Video Superintelligence

SAN FRANCISCO — TwelveLabs, a leading video intelligence company, today announced it has raised $100 million in Series B funding. The round was co-led by NEA and NAVER Ventures with participation from Amazon, Radical Ventures, Korea Investment Partners, Index Ventures, Quadrille Capital, and Red Bull Ventures.

The investment comes as TwelveLabs expands beyond video understanding models into a full-stack agentic intelligence system for video that combines perception, knowledge, and reasoning into a single architecture. Organizations and creators can put vast video archives to work as a living, searchable system.

Video represents upwards of 90% of the world’s data, yet most remains opaque and inaccessible. TwelveLabs has traction in media/entertainment and public sector, with demand in advertising, security, sports, and automotive.

Foundation models

Marengo 3.0: world’s most powerful video embedding model — understands sound, words, and motion across time.

Pegasus 1.5: turns video into structured data (scene boundaries, entities, temporal segments, semantic context).

Both distributed through Amazon Bedrock and TwelveLabs API.

Agentic architecture

TwelveLabs’ agentic system builds structured, persistent memory of every ingested video, then reasons across all of it. Intelligence compounds with every video processed rather than resetting per query.

Earlier this month TwelveLabs launched Rodeo, its first application-layer product.

AWS partnership

AWS is TwelveLabs’ preferred cloud provider with a multiyear commitment including optimizing video inference on AWS Trainium chips. New TwelveLabs models will launch first on AWS.

Funding use

Invest heavily in R&D; continue San Francisco and Seoul operations; open New York and London offices.

CEO Jae Lee: “Five years ago, we made a contrarian bet: the substrate of machine intelligence is recorded reality in motion, not language. Models commoditize. The intelligence layer that composes them does not.”

TwelveLabs is headquartered in San Francisco with operations in Seoul, New York, Los Angeles, and London.
