Robinhood officially launched the public mainnet of Robinhood Chain on July 1, bringing an Arbitrum-based Layer 2 blockchain online alongside tokenized stock trading in more than 120 countries, a decentralized lending product offering an estimated 7% APY on USDG, and perpetual futures through a partnership with decentralized exchange Lighter.
The announcements came during a keynote event called “The World is Flat,” streamed from London and hosted by CEO Vlad Tenev and Johann Kerbrat, SVP and General Manager of Crypto and International.
Robinhood serves nearly 28 million customers across 38 countries.
Robinhood Chain
Permissionless Ethereum Layer 2 built on Arbitrum Orbit with 100-millisecond block times, designed for tokenized real-world assets and compliant financial products.
Day-one integrations: Uniswap (public AMM), Pleiades (institutional AMM), Chainlink (oracles, CCIP, Data Streams), Alchemy, BitGo, TRM.
Robinhood covers all gas fees for 90 days for eligible Robinhood Wallet users.
Robinhood Earn
Eligible users lend USDG through self-custody wallets via Morpho (~$6.6B TVL). Estimated ~7% APY (variable). Insurance via Lloyd’s of London and RELM for cyber incidents and smart contract exploits — not principal insurance.
Stock Tokens
Available in 120+ countries via Robinhood Wallet. Cover NVDA, GOOG, AAPL with 24/7 trading. Stock Tokens are tokenized debt securities issued by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited — economic price exposure only, no legal equity ownership. Unavailable to U.S. persons.
Lighter Perpetual Futures
Robinhood Wallet updated with native perpetual futures via Lighter (1.5B valuation). Lighter committed $11M in LIT tokens to Robinhood users with 2x points rate.
