GitHub Copilot browser tools reached GA in VS Code on July 1, 2026. Agents open and navigate live web apps, click, type, read content, capture screenshots, inspect console errors, and run scripted flows. Browser tools are on by default.
Security architecture: user tabs private until “Share with Agent”; agent sessions isolated from everyday browsing; sensitive permissions (camera, microphone, location, clipboard reads) require explicit per-site approval. Enterprise controls include workbench.browser.enableChatTools and chat.agent.allowedNetworkDomains / chat.agent.deniedNetworkDomains with wildcard support.
Available in VS Code editor and Agents window after update. VS Code 1.127 release notes confirm GA status.
