Claude Tag embeds Claude directly into Slack as a persistent, shared team member that accumulates institutional knowledge, works asynchronously, and can act without being prompted when ambient mode is enabled.
Claude operates under its own identity — dedicated service accounts for connected tools, posting as the Claude app, opening PRs under its own GitHub app. Replaces the transactional Claude in Slack app from October 2025 and extends December 2025’s Claude Code in Slack integration.
Available in beta for Enterprise and Team plan customers. The distribution advantage of becoming the default AI presence in coordination channels creates compounding data dependency.
