Investment: $15 billion (approximately INR 1.35 lakh crore) will be invested over five years (2026–2030).

Capacity: A 1 GW (Gigawatt) hyperscale AI data center campus, specifically designed for the high-density computing demands of training and serving AI models like Gemini and Google Search.

Location: The hub will span approximately 600 acres across three sites: Tarluvada, Rambilli, and Adavivaram.

Partnerships: The development is a strategic collaboration with AdaniConneX and Nxtra by Airtel, who will manage the construction of the data center buildings and supporting infrastructure.

The hub will feature a “full-stack” AI infrastructure, including:

  • Three extensive data center campuses
  • A new international subsea gateway (part of the America-India Connect initiative) landing in Vizag, ensuring low-latency global connectivity

Viksit Bharat 2047: Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian highlighted the hub as a “strategic blueprint” to support the Indian government’s vision for a developed India by 2047.

Economic Impact: The project is expected to create thousands of high-value jobs in areas such as data science, AI operations, and cybersecurity, solidifying Visakhapatnam’s position as a global “Data City.”

Timeline: The core facility is anticipated to be completed by July 2028.
