Cloudflare Research detailed Meerkat, an experimental globally consistent control-plane consensus service built on QuePaxa (2023). Unlike Raft, QuePaxa allows all replicas to accept writes without leader-timeout availability gaps — aimed at Cloudflare’s 330+ data centers.
